Basman Court in Moscow remands Yury Dud in custody in terrorism case

The Basman District Court in Moscow has ordered the detention of the well-known Russian blogger and journalist Yury Dud. The preventive measure has been set for a period of two months.

Charges and legal consequences

Dud is charged with violating Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This article provides for liability for public calls to terrorist activity, as well as for the justification or propaganda of terrorism carried out using mass media or the internet.

The term of detention will begin from the moment the blogger is physically detained on Russian territory or extradited to the country.
