Leighton Meester becomes a mother

29-year-old Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester has become a mother for the first time. The actress gave birth to her first child six weeks ago on 6 August, but had been keeping it a close secret. Leighton Meester and her husband Adam Brody have not revealed the baby's gender, and they have also instructed all friends and family not to tell the press about it.

 The couple initially kept their wedding and marriage a secret, followed by the pregnancy, and it was only two months before Leighton's delivery that paparazzi managed to catch her with a very noticeable baby bump.
