Celine Dion's husband dies

The husband of famous singer Celine Dion, René Angélil, has died after a prolonged illness.

The man was the singer's producer, and it was thanks to him that Celine Dion became a renowned performer.

René had been battling cancer for several years and underwent chemotherapy, but the treatment did not help. When René's condition began to deteriorate, the singer cancelled all her concerts and devoted herself entirely to caring for her husband and their three children.

René Angélil passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 73.
