Verka Serduchka faces lawsuit over Eurovision 2017 video

Despite the fact that the Eurovision 2017 vocal competition is already behind us, the scandals surrounding it have not subsided; quite the opposite. Today, it became known that plans are being made to sue Verka Serduchka over her video, which was presented at the contest. The clip featured the image of the well-known fairy-tale character Karlsson.

The unauthorised use of the character outraged the rights holder. According to a representative of the rights-holding company, using Karlsson without permission is a copyright infringement, which threatens the artist with a lawsuit.

Whether Verka Serduchka will manage to resolve the conflict amicably – we will soon find out.
