Ihor Kondratiuk's new film at risk of collapse due to actor who remained abroad

The lead role proved to be a problem

Ukrainian director and producer Ihor Kondratiuk faced a serious problem during the filming of his new movie "At the Zenith". The film, financed with state funds, has been put on hold due to actor Dmytro Yaroshenko, who played one of the key roles in it.

Actor does not return, project frozen

Yaroshenko, known for his role as the dissident poet Vasyl Stus, was abroad at the time of the start of the full-scale invasion and has not returned since. His participation in the project proved critical — a large part of the film has already been shot with his involvement, but it is impossible to complete the final scenes. Reshooting with a new actor would mean huge additional costs, which puts the completion of the film at risk.

Yaroshenko himself, according to media reports, categorically refuses to return, leaving the fate of the film uncertain.
