Scandal surrounding Dmitry Monatik gains momentum

A few days ago, a scandal began to unfold around the well-known Ukrainian artist Dmitry Monatik. Information appeared in several media outlets regarding the performer's planned appearance in Russia. Monatik was immediately hit with a wave of criticism.

However, the artist himself stated that he does not plan to travel to Russia, and that the numerous posters announcing his participation in performances are fake. It seemed the incident could be considered resolved. However, today one of the notoriously scandalous Russian publications released information claiming that the Security Service of Ukraine had banned Dmitry Monatik from leaving the country.

In fact, it is obvious that the publication's staff are unaware that in Ukraine, only a court can restrict a person's departure from the country; the SBU does not have such authority.

The SBU press service also confirmed that no such ban exists. Meanwhile, Dmitry Monatik himself prefers to remain silent, which leads fans to draw certain conclusions. It is not ruled out that the concerts were indeed planned. However, following the uproar, the artist decided to cancel his performance.
