Criminal case opened over Mariyev's death

Famous actor Dmitry Mariyev died unexpectedly a few days ago. Police have opened a criminal case under Article 109, Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code, "Causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties".

At present, authorities are identifying individuals who may be implicated in the actor's death, as well as all the circumstances of the incident.

It was initially reported that emergency medical services refused to respond to a call for Mariyev. However, it later emerged that his friends had independently cancelled the ambulance dispatch a few minutes after making the call. They had intended to take the artist to the hospital themselves.
